Dr. Mandelman graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1983, winning the Optometry General Proficiency medal and University Gold Medal in Science as well as other numerous awards. She is very active in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists (currently and as past president) and the Canadian Institute for the Blind. She has written papers and lectures regularly, as well as appearing on the Maritime Noon Show.
Dr. Cox graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1998. She won numerous scholastic awards while at the school, including the Faculty of Science award for overall achievement. Dr. Cox is also very active in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and has written numerous articles in local papers and appeared on local TV.
Dr. Sheppard graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2003 after completing a B.Sc. in Biology at Dalhousie University. She has been active in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and the Nova Scotia College of Optometrists since returning home after graduation. She has Chaired committees for both the Association and the College, served as the Secretary-Treasurer , Vice President and President of the Association .
Dr. McLeod graduated on the Dean’s List from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2006 after completing a B.Sc. in Biology and Psychology from University of New Brunswick in 2002. During her academic career she held several research positions and has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. She made the move to Nova Scotia in 2014 from her home province of New Brunswick, where she chaired and sat on several committees for her provincial association.
Dr. Boudreau graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL in 2015 after completing a B.Sc. in Biology from Acadia University. She looks forward to becoming an active member of the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists as well as the Nova Scotia College of Optometrists.
Dr. Matthews graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry on the Dean’s honor list in 2016 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2011. She has recently made the move back to the east coast to be closer to home and is looking forward to getting involved in all the great things this profession has to offer.
Cindy Kelly is the clinic manager at Bedford Eye Care.
She began her career in eye care back in 2002 when she joined TLC Laser Eye Centres as clinic manager and also assisted in public relations. Cindy travelled throughout Nova Scotia and NL offering seminars on laser vision correction and doing preliminary pre-testing for patients interested in this procedure.
Cindy’s approachable manner and genuine smile will make you feel comfortable in our clinic. Her professional experience allows her to deal with any question or concerns you may have regarding your eye exams.
