Bellinger Eyewear

BELLINGER is a Danish eyewear brand owned by founders Malene and Claus Bellinger Diederichsen – both designers by profession. Their partnership is based on the combining of opposites: the masculine and the feminine, colourful and eye-catching Mediterranean inspiration and Danish design, humour and seriousness, success and humbleness.

Malene and Claus are an exception in the eyewear industry, as neither of them are opticians, but draw their experience from work in a range of industries at home and abroad.

BELLINGER came to be in September 2003, and now sells its handmade, high-quality products in over 40 countries worldwide. BELLINGER produces two BELLINGER and Kamaeleon collections annually, and the company is in rapid growth.

Malene and Claus are responsible for every detail of the design process, from shaping the fronts to developing the colours and design of the spectacular cuttings on the temples.

BELLINGER is not your typical Danish design company, as it eschews the streamlined and minimalist, concentrating instead on taking pride in creating eyewear with a sense of fun and a twinkle in the eye.

Etnia Barcelona Eyewear

We are an independent brand of eyewear who has created a wide range of colors, collections and designs for everyone who wants to express him- or herself beyond the cannons imposed by momentary and passing fashion and trends. Our collection focuses on color, design, comfort, value and quality by means of the acetate colors and textures which we created in Barcelona by our design department. The Etnia acetate is produced by mixing pulverized cotton and acetone to create a paste, color is added using various pressing processes, then cured, cut and laminated, then set in molds where they are pressed into block form and aged for a period of 12 weeks. When these blocks are removed from the molds they are cut to the desired measurement. From these acetate sheets we make our plastic frame fronts and temples. (Acetate is the only plastic that is not petroleum base it is mostly cotton based).

Ten years ago, when we started Etnia in our twenties, we had no knowledge about how to create a brand, little understanding about global logistics, and no marketing expertise. What we did have was the desire to win over the world with our designs, a commitment to quality, a desire to delight our customers, to continue to improve and to innovate to reach our place among the market leaders.

We want to do what we like, say what we like, talk of important things, move away from success and beauty, talk seriously about what is out there, revive long-lost values like freedom. We are free, we denounce everything that makes the world worse, we exalt what makes it great, we grab onto life, we turn it around, we look at it shamelessly and we make it a work of art, we are artists of our own lives, we bestow it with the dance it asks of us. Starting now we are not resigned to reality because that attitude is already part of the past.
